Sask KofC Charitable Foundation donates to Weyburn Food Programs

Council 1731 Presents Donations from Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation to Support Local Food Programs

On June 6, 2025, members of Council 1731 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, proudly presented donations on behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation to support vital food programs in the community.

The first presentation was made to the Salvation Army, Weyburn Branch, where a cheque for $2,500 was delivered to assist with their ongoing food initiatives. Pictured left to right are Council 1731 Treasurer Brother Ray Ball, Salvation Army Community Ministries Worker Nicole Strickland, and Council 1731 Grand Knight Richard Wick. This generous contribution will help the Salvation Army continue its mission of providing meals and support to individuals and families in need.

The second donation was presented to St. Michael School in Weyburn. A cheque for $500 was given to support the school’s food program, helping ensure students have access to nutritious meals throughout the school year. Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation donates to Swift Current Children’s School Breakfast program

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, Mr. James and Mrs. Alma Meier had the honour of presenting a cheque to Grand Knight Gord Hagan of Swift Current Council 3031. This donation is in support of the Council’s Children’s School Breakfast Program.

Council 3031 will also donate to the schools with proceeds from their vegetable garden initiative, to help provide nutritious meals to students in the Swift Current area.

Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation donates to Our Lady of Lourdes Church

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, Mary Mother of the Church Council #11888 was honoured to present $3,000.00 cheque to Father Daniel Yasinski on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

This donation is designated to support the parish’s food distribution program, which provides essential assistance to individuals and families in need of financial support to purchase food.

Adrien Piche took the photograph following the celebration of Mass. The cheque presentation took place just before the final blessing, in front of a full congregation and a packed gymnasium.

Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation donates to Carlyle & District Food Bank

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, Moose Mountain Council #10317 in Carlyle proudly presented a donation of $3,000.00 to the Carlyle & District Food Bank. This vital organization, operated by dedicated volunteers since 1989, provides monthly food hampers to individuals and families in need throughout the region. Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation donates to St. Mary’s Church in Saskatoon

This photograph captures a moment of heartfelt gratitude as Father Kevin McGee, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Saskatoon, receives a generous donation from the Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation. The cheque, for $3,000, was presented by Deacon Nicholas Blom, Financial Secretary of Council #9538, through the James and Lawrence Meier Food For Families Fund.

This contribution will provide vital financial support for St. Mary’s Church’s ongoing efforts to serve the marginalized in the surrounding community. Specifically, it will aid the Church’s “front door food hamper ministry,” which offers daily food assistance to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Through this compassionate outreach, St. Mary’s continues to embody its mission of service and solidarity with those in need.

Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation donates to Battlefords & District Food Bank

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, Grand Knight Matthew Parker, Foundation Director Mervyn Welter, and State Warden Tom Schwab proudly present a cheque to Erin Katerynych, Executive Director of the Battlefords & District Food Bank.

The Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre, also known as The Empty Stocking Fund Inc., is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty in the Battlefords region. Since its founding in the 1950s, the Centre has evolved into a vital community hub, offering a diverse range of programs, including emergency food hampers, school nutrition initiatives, clothing drives, and support services for individuals and families in need.
