|Larry Packet, State Secretary and |
|My involvement with the Knights of Columbus has been both extensive and satisfying. I have
chaired the organizing committee for midterm meetings in Davidson on several occasions. I am
a member of the Special Olympics committee. I visit shut-ins on a regular basis. My recent
experience of delivering wheel chairs in Costa Rica has had a profound effect on me.
I have found the Knights of Columbus to be very rewarding. The spiritual growth, the church
involvement, the charity work, the influence of elders, and the chance to make a difference has
moulded me into the man I have become today. In 100 years it won’t matter how much money
I had, the kind of car I drove, or what house I lived in. What will matter is what I did to make a
positive difference in this world. Today I am a better father because I cared about my church,
my country, my family, my community and all this was possible because I BELONGED TO THE
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS.
I am very proud to say that I am Catholic man, a Knight of Columbus, and a proud Canadian. I
am very proud of my accomplishments to date with the Knights and I cherish the friendships
I’ve made with the people I have met within the councils.
