James & Lawrence Meier Food for Families Fund

Melville Food Bank Presentation

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, Grand Knight Mark Molnar of Melville Council #5201 presented a cheque for $3,000 to the Melville and District Food Bank. Acting Managing Director Donna Mucha gratefully accepted the donation, noting that the funds will be used to purchase essential food items for individuals and families in need throughout the community and the surrounding area.

Health & Safety

Safe Families Canada – The Battlefords
Provide isolated families in crisis with a caring, compassionate community, keeping children safe.

PA Catholic Family Services, CFS Prince Albert
A Domestic violence support group for women survivors who require assistance to leave the relationship.

Spina bifida $ Hydrocephalus Association
Purchase balance support wheels for wheelchairs, allowing participation in sporting events and travel on rougher terrain.

Lloydminster & Area Brain Injury Society
Provide free programs, services, + referrals for persons who have sustained brain injuries

Micah Missions – Saskatoon
Assisting individuals who have committed sexual offences and leading them to responsible and constructive lives.

St. Athanasius UK Catholic Church – Regina
Support for Ukrainian & Russian Immigrants in the area

Youth Bible Camps

Luseland Bible Camp
Funding to assist in providing secure and clean accommodations for youth at the camp

Rex Mundi Camp Society – Rose Valley
Providing secure, clean and healthy facilities at summer camps for youth

St. Michael’s Youth Camp – Madge Lake
Providing access to Yorkton Schools’ spring activities and summer camps to boys and girls in the area

St. John Bosco Youth Camp Society – Choiceland
Funding to provide summer camp access to boys and girls in the area.

Kenosee Boys & Girls Youth Camp – Kenosee Lake
Funding is needed to assist in providing boys and girls with access to summer camp.

Camp Monahan – Katepwa Lake Qu’Appelle Valley
Providing summer camping to disadvantaged children regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Saskatoon Youth Development Complex – Blackstrap
Provision of security and safety with funding for social and recreational activities.

Camp at Madge Lake for 140 students to learn survival, first aid and other skills. 51st year of operation

Cloth for Kids – Grandora
Group meets each week, making 100+ quilts each year for needy children in the Saskatoon area.

Support for High School Byzantine student retreat, materials, speakers and honorariums

Seminarian Support – Vocations to the priesthood

Providing support for Saskatchewan-based Seminarians’ education to the Priesthood. Total of over $63,000 for this year.

Bursaries to various Universities & Colleges

To qualify for any of the following Bursaries, you must be a Knight, spouse, child or grandchild of a Knight.

Catholic University Bursaries
Three $1,000.00 bursaries are presented to St. Peter’s College, St Thomas More and Campion College Universities.

Campion Knights Bursary – Regina
One $1000.00 bursary is presented to a Mother Teresa Middle School graduate student who is accepted to Campion College University.

St. Therese Bursary – Bruno
One $1,000 Bursary for a student attending the 9-month “Gap Year Program”

Poly Tech Bursaries
4 – $1,000.00 bursaries are presented to qualifying students at Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Prince Albert & Regina. One per campus

Contingency Fund

Assisting in partnership with Councils for individuals experiencing a disaster of emergent nature. Such as health, fire, etc., within the following calendar year.
