Sask K of C Charitable Foundation Reports Record Financial Year and Board Leadership Updates

The Sask K of C Charitable Foundation held its 56th Annual General Meeting on April 18, 2026, in Saskatoon, celebrating a record-setting financial year and announcing important updates to its Board of Directors.

The Foundation reported its strongest financial performance in its history for the year ended December 31, 2025. Total assets grew to $9.1 million, representing a 20% increase over the previous year, while total earnings exceeded $2.0 million, a 7.1% year-over-year increase. The Foundation distributed $392,700 in grants and bursaries to faith-based charitable organizations across Saskatchewan, supporting health, youth, pro-life, and senior programs and initiatives as well as enhancing indigenous relationships. In total, there were 174 grant and bursary recipients, of which 27 organizations will receive funding through the James & Lawrence Meier Food for Families program.

“Our Foundation continues to demonstrate strong stewardship and a deep commitment to charity throughout Saskatchewan,” said Harvey Granatier, President and CEO. “These results reflect prudent financial management and the dedication of volunteers who give generously of their time and expertise.”

In addition to grant funding, the Foundation highlighted the continued success of its signature initiatives, including Coats for Kids, which provided 6,876 winter coats to children and youth across the province in partnership with local Knights of Columbus councils and First Nations communities, and the Cash Calendar Project, which sold 4,884 calendars and generated significant funding for community-based charities.

Board of Directors Updates
The Foundation also announced several changes to its Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting.

Gerard Muyres was elected to the Board of Directors, bringing valuable experience and leadership to the Foundation as it continues to grow and expand its charitable impact. Gerard is a member of St. Augustine Council 10587 in Saskatoon.

At the same time, the Foundation recognized the retirement of Marvin DeSchryver, who concluded 24 years of distinguished service on the Board. Mr. DeSchryver was thanked for his long-standing commitment, leadership, and dedication to advancing the mission of the Sask K of C Charitable Foundation and strengthening charitable work throughout the province.

“The Foundation is deeply grateful to Marvin DeSchryver for nearly a quarter-century of faithful service,” Granatier said. “His contributions have helped shape the strong and respected organization we are today.”
