Trevor Harris Attends Sask K of C Charitable Foundation Board Meeting

Trevor Harris
Trevor Harris leading a Prayer with the Foundation Board

While deeply immersed in the routine and work of the Sask K of C Charitable Foundation, the Board was surprised and impressed during Wednesday’s monthly meeting by the appearance of an unexpected but guest.  After a long day attending media and private events throughout Regina, Trevor Harris found time to join the meeting to provide a brief overview of his life, his return to the Catholic faith, and his commitment to bringing people to Jesus.  He has often said, both in private and more so in public, that he is “a follower of Jesus who just happens to play football”.

Then, after a further exchange with the Board about his experience playing in the 2025 Grey Cup, he said a Prayer for the Board and all Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus, thanking God for sending these men of faith to do God’s will and giving them the strength and perseverance to continue doing so.

Over the past few weeks, many people would have seen Trevor’s leadership as he quarterbacked the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a win in the CFL Western Final, with the winning touchdown coming with only 11 seconds left in the game, and a win in the Grey Cup, where he was chosen as the Grey Cup game’s Most Valuable Player.  What may have been overlooked in all the hoopla, excitement, and limelight was that on the Saturday of Grey Cup weekend, Trevor received an award that was as much, if not more, rewarding for him personally.  He received the Gord Barwell Award – For exceptional contributions that have profoundly inspired and shaped the growth of spirit ministry in Canada.

Trevor Harris’ 2025 Gord Barwell Award

The 2025 Saskatchewan Roughriders are regarded as one of the most moral and ethical teams that have ever played in the CFL or any professional sport.

Trevor played a huge role in creating and influencing that reputation.  He is an exceptional role model for not only the team and professional athletes, but all Saskatchewan people.  We thank him for making Saskatchewan his home and we wish him the best this offseason, and if it is God’s will, we look forward to his return next summer where he can continue to be a follower of Jesus who helps bring people to Jesus while he quarterbacks the 2026 team in an attempt to accomplish something never, ever done – Saskatchewan Roughrider back-to-back Grey Cup Championships.
