The Sask K of C Capital Endowment Fund: The Foundation’s Engine for Good
In last week’s article, we talked about how the Sask K of C Charitable Foundation has been built on and grows by donations to an Endowment.
Donations to the Foundation stay in the Foundation forever. The earnings from these donations are used to fund the grants and bursaries we make each year. We encourage you to visit our website Endowments – Building a Legacy of Hope, which lists all the endowments and the purpose for which each endowment was created. Donors can choose to direct their donation to a specific Endowment.
The Sask K of C Capital Endowment Fund is the heart of the Foundation’s charitable mission. It is the primary endowment that fuels the work Knights across Saskatchewan have supported for generations. When a donor donates to the Foundation that is not specifically directed to another Endowment, the donation is made to the Sask K of C Capital Endowment. Most donations, memorial gifts, and estate contributions are made to this cornerstone fund.
Each year, the earnings generated by the Capital Endowment Fund are distributed to support charitable works throughout the province. These earnings help families in crisis, strengthen community programs, support Catholic education, and ensure that the Foundation can respond to emerging needs with compassion and purpose.
Because all earnings are distributed annually, the Fund grows only through new donations. Monthly giving, annual gifts, memorial donations, and estate gifts all play a vital role in strengthening the Fund for future generations. Many of the Foundation’s other initiatives — including bursaries, parish support, and community outreach — have been made possible because of the stability and strength of the Capital Endowment Fund.
Regular giving is the simplest and most effective way to help the Fund grow. Every contribution, no matter the size, becomes part of a legacy that continues to serve Saskatchewan families year after year.
Closing Thought: Every donation to the Sask K of C Capital Endowment Fund helps create charitable opportunities for future generations of Saskatchewan families.
Providing Help, Creating Hope
Since 1969, the Sask K of C Charitable Foundation has dedicated itself to creating, administering and advocating for programs and services that help families in need. Through our various programs, we have focused on assisting families to overcome life’s obstacles that threaten their self-sufficiency. Last year, we provided services to many families in Saskatchewan and touched the lives of countless others through our advocacy and convening efforts.
Cash Calendars
The Sask K of C Charitable Foundation has developed a Cash Calendar Fundraiser, with only 5000 calendars being printed. The 2027 Calendar features photos with text from 12 recipients of donations from the Foundation.
The cash calendar will have 64 draws throughout the year with a total payout of $25,000.00 in cash prizes. All Saskatchewan Knight of Columbus Councils will sell these calendars in the province for $40.00 per calendar.
Please contact the Knights of Columbus Council in your community to purchase your calendar and participate in this exciting project.

“In Memoriam” Program
Honour someone you love, remember someone you miss…
The In Memoriam program is an excellent method to commemorate deceased loved ones.
- It is a very effective expression of sympathy to families grieving the recent loss of a loved one.
- It is also an opportunity to honour the memory of a loved one’s special day or memory, such as a birthday, a couple’s wedding anniversary, an anniversary of a loved one’s death, or any other special event.
The “In Memoriam” program also encourages Councils, Brother Knights, and their families to include the Sask K of C Charitable Foundation as a preferred charity in their end-of-life planning and discussions with funeral chapel directors.
