RE: Knights of Columbus Celebrate 10 Years of Coats for Kids, Faith in Action
Families struggling to make ends meet cannot always afford a new winter coat. The goal of the Knights of Columbus “Faith in Action – Coats for Kids” program is to ensure that no child goes without a coat during the winter season.
For many years, the Knights of Columbus Council 2094 in North Battleford has purchased and provided new winter coats for children in Light of Christ Catholic Schools. Earlier this year, the Knights of Columbus Supreme Office announced its intention to celebrate 10 years of Coats for Kids by providing one million coats across North America. K of C Council 2094 seized the opportunity to have the Supreme Office subsidize the purchase and was able to double the number of coats available this season. In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Coats for Kids, 156 coats were donated to Light of Christ Catholic schools for distribution to students.
Coats have already been distributed to students at Holy Family and St. Mary schools. The remaining coats have been donated to Light of Christ Catholic Schools for distribution to more students as needed. The coats come in a variety of sizes and colours.
Light of Christ Catholic Schools pray, educate, and serve throughout the Battlefords and is very pleased to partner with the Knights of Columbus in this project for the benefit of students.
